How do I forward my VoIP phone if I am already working remotely?

If you are already off campus and forgot to enable forwarding of incoming calls on your office phone you are still in luck. Using campus tools you can still forward your office phone to your cell or home phone.

  1. Login to the GatorLink VPN
  2. Log on to the Cisco Unified Communications Self Care Portal (if you have issues opening this link see below).
  3. Enter your GatorLink username and password and click the Sign In button.
  4. Click Call Forwarding on the left pane.
  5. Put a checkmark to the left of Forward all calls to:
  6. Click on the drop down arrow and choose Add a new number
  7. Enter the phone number you want your office phone call forwarded to. If the phone number is local, enter 9 and the seven digit phone number (e.g. 95551212). If the phone number is long distance, enter 9,1, and the 10 digit phone number (e.g. 919545551212)
  8. Click Save and close the webpage

To reverse this, remove the phone number and uncheck the box to the left of Forward all calls to: then click Save and close the webpage

Trouble Opening the Self Care Portal?

Picture showing an example of the HTTP Status 403 error some users experience when clicking the link.
If you get this error, reload the page by placing your cursor in the browser’s addressbar and hitting enter.

Clicking links to get to the Self Care Portal often results in an error. When the webpage never opens it usually indicates that you have forgotten to run the campus VPN. If, on the other hand, you get the error pictured place the cursor in the addressbar of your browser and hit enter (do not simply click the refresh icon to reload the page or it will not work).
